Kolby Cooper has certainly hit the Texas music scene with a bang. The 22-year-old from East Texas has hit an incredible 16 million plays on Spotify with his first break-out hit, “It Ain’t Me.” His song “It Ain’t Me” comes off his 2018 EP, “Vol. 1” which contains his first released song, “Every Single Kiss,” previously released in 2017.

This boy has been LIVING, in the past five years he has graduated from high school, married the love of his life, Jillian, had two beautiful daughters, Josie and Charlee, and has smashed out 7 albums with national tours booked. L-I-V-I-N-G.

I saw Kolby for the first time at The Outlaw Saloon back in February of 2021. He described his music as a mash-up of Texas Country music and Rock-N-Roll. Bands like Blink-182 and Metallica have had an influence on Kolby’s music. But what speaks most about Kolby’s music is his ability to write songs that speak to the pain of losing his father, the tenderness of holding his first child, to outrageous love-gone-wrong songs.
This young man isn’t pumping the breaks anytime soon either. His latest hit album, “Boy From Anderson County” has amassed 12,000 plays on YouTube in just three days, since its premiere on November 9th.
Kolby speaks to having to grow up quickly after his father passed away when he was only 14. That’s why he says it’s been so easy to settle down and become a father at a young age. Trying to balance his family life and soak up every minute of his daughters has been difficult with his heavy tour schedule. But nonetheless, Kolby speaks of being incredibly grateful for the whole experience, whether he is living his life at 90 miles per hour, or trying to slow it down and enjoy his daughters, he says in an interview with People magazine.
His music reflects this contrast in his life from love songs like, “By Your Side” to outrageous numbers like “2 Words” Kolby’s music offers up diversity and stories anyone, at any age, can relate to.
If you haven’t done so already, give Kolby a follow on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Check out his merchandise or go see him in concert for the best ways to support him and his music.
