Hummin’ & Strummin’ with Colten Jesse

Colten Jesse takes the the Texas Country Music Scene by storm

Colten Jesse is best known as a Professional Bull Rider competing across the country in bull riding. There’s no question about Colten’s riding skills, currently ranking 14 in the PBR with 10 wins putting him at $310,000 in winnings. Colten may be a bull rider from Oklahoma but he is making quite the splash in the Texas Country Music Scene.

Colten’s guitar is acoustic and his music can be described as raw, simple yet incredibly deep, and highly relatable. His first song, “Firewater” leaked across social media late August of last year. Colten soon after released three singles, “Firewater”, “Take Me Back”, and “Marlboro Man.” With “Marlboro Man” grossing 1.2 million plays on Spotify and 120,000 monthly listeners, people are hitting play and wanting more from the 24 year old musician.

With a voice that draws you in and lyrics of a true storyteller Colten has all the makings to hit it big in the industry. Following a bull riding injury he has spent most of 2021 working on his musical career. Colten just released a three song single in late August of this year. Justin Felisko writes in his article, “Jesse Eyeing a Return to Competition…” that Colten fell into the music industry by mistake.

Colten sent (what I can only assume was “Firewater”) to his friend in August of last year. He had been shy about his music and unwilling to post it and put it out there. His friend put it up on TikTok and the crowd went wild. Soon there after Colten was singin’ his songs and putting them out into the world on the regular.

To keep up with the latest on Colten, new song releases, and his tour dates follow him on Instagram, Spotify, or Apple Music. Without any further ado, the song that started it all.
